Kalives

Kalives is a beautiful village located by the sea of Souda bay , 20 km east of Chania in West Crete and it is a popular tourist resort that has maintained its Cretan character. A small river crosses the area and by its sides there are plenty of traditional and modern homes, hotels, rooms to let, restaurants and coffee shops, souvenirs shops.  It essentially consists of one long road, with houses opening directly on to it, with the occasional alley behind. The town is bound on one side by the sea and the other by low hills. A long golden sand beach with green – blue waters runs alongside most of the town.
Kalives is an ideal place for relaxation for those who love nature and sea near Apokoronas, Vryses, Almyrida, Kournas, Episkopi, Dramia, and many other beautiful villages that kept the traditional spirit and lifestyle of Crete.

In the centre of the village you can find whatever you would like; bakeries, super-markets, green groceries with fresh fruit and vegetables, wine stores, 24 hour ATM's, petrol stations, pharmacies, medical office, dry clean, car rentals, bars, taverns and restaurants.
