How to get to Crete

Crete is easily accessed by taking the airplane to Crete (preferably to Chania) from Athens (El.Venizelos) international Airport.
On the island of Crete there are two airports situated outside the two main cities of Chania (Ioannis Daskalogiannis- CHQ) and Heraklion (Nikos Kazantzakis- HER).

From April to November these airports are serviced by direct charters and scheduled flights from almost all airports. Almyros Homes office is located at  Georgioupolis that is 30 kilometres east from Chania (about half an hour drive). Equivalently we are situated 120 kilometres west of Heraklion (about 1 hour & 20 minutes drive).
During the winter months, AEGEAN AIRLINES and OLYMPIC AIRWAYS provide daily flights via Athens to these airports. An alternative can be EASYJET to Athens and then a short flight with Olympic Air or Aegean Airlines to Chania or Heraklion airport. There is also the option of the ferry service which runs daily from Piraeus, the port of Athens, to Crete, with ANEK Lines and Hellenic Seaways (HSW) to Souda port and MINOAN LINES to Heraklion port. The ferries arrive at all major harbors of Crete (Souda (Chania), Rethymnon, Heraklion, Agios Nikolaos, Sitia).
