Dramia
Dramia is a small village, approx. 500 m from the sea with a amazing view on the bay of Almirida, and the rocks of Apokoronas To the west with a charming view to the Lefka Ori (white mountains). It has the longest sandy beach (9km) in Western Crete.
Dramia is 30 km far from Chania and 10 km from Rethimnon. The airport of Chania 40 km and Heraklion 100 km. 2 minutes drive from Georgioupolis. Nearby Dramia you have one of the most beautiful sandy beaches of Crete homes, from Kavros to Georgiopoulis
It is fully geared towards tourism in the summer season and becomes very busy, with many hotels and taverns. Three rivers run into the sea at Georgioupolis. The road bridge crosses the largest, the Almiros, whose mouth creates the small harbour which is lined with eucalyptus trees.
In the summer season Kavros and Georgiopoulis are nice places to visit, with a lot of tourists, mostly families and not interesting for Disco-lovers.
In wintertime it is very quiet (usual shopping can be done), but Chania and Rethimnon are the places who are still alive.
Also nearby is the famous lake of Kournas (the only sweet water lake of Crete), the mountain village Episkopi and Argiropolis, are also popular. In Dramia you will find the quietness and silence you are looking for and nice amusement you find close by.
